Gallup NYC is an incredible non profit organization that currently assists more than 450 disabled children, adults and veterans with equine therapy.

Every week families gather at six NYC locations to receive different services including hippotherapy. In order to meet the demand for more therapy, GallopNYC recently opened Sunrise Stables in Lindenwood Queens and GallopNYC Forest Hills in NYC however,  there is a waiting list with over 700 folks waiting in line to take advantage of this incredible program.

Equine Therapy has been proven to build developmental, emotional, social, and physical skills for each individual rider and according to parent Volunteer and Board member Sol Reischer, Miracles happen on the horses. When’s Sol’s own daughter Lauren started at Gallup NYC she had never parted her legs. She was born with CP and the parents were told that equine therapy would be good for their daughter. As soon as they were about to sit her on the horse, she opened her legs for the very first time.  Lauren competed on horseback in competitions for the disabled but today she has become a skilled horsewoman and rides competitively with able body athletes. Non verbal children on the Autism spectrum often begin to speak within weeks beginning equine therapy.
