In this special MOVIE REVIEW full episode of FrankieSense & More, The Good Media Movie Correspondent and Critic Brent Marchant reviewed some of the top movies out today.
Starting off with the The Shape of Water this little gem stars : Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon Elisa i( Sally Hawkins) is a mute, isolated woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. Her life changes forever when she discovers the lab’s classified secret — a mysterious, scaled creature from South America that lives in a water tank. As Elisa develops a unique bond with her new friend, she soon learns that its fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist
Our next movie was Darkest Hour starring Gary Oldman Lily James, Kristin Scott Thomas A thrilling and inspiring true story begins at the precipice of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.
The next movie was Star Wars.. The Last Jedi- which Brent thought was the best of the entire series. This movie starred Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill |Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever.
The Disaster Artist is a movie about a movie.. The true story stars James Franco, Dave Franco, Ari Graynor , Alison Brie. James Franco plays Tommy Wiseau a man of mystery. When Greg Sestero, an aspiring film actor, meets the weird and mysterious Tommy Wiseau in an acting class, they form a unique friendship and travel to Hollywood to make their dreams come true.
Followed up by I TONYA..which Brent stated was his favorite of all the movies, stars Margot Robbie, Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney.
Competitive ice skater Tonya Harding rises amongst the ranks at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, but her future in the activity is thrown into doubt when her ex-husband intervenes.
The POST is up next.. a little slow for my liking but stars Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Bob Odenkirk. A cover-up that spanned four U.S. Presidents pushed the country’s first female newspaper publisher and a hard-driving editor to join an unprecedented battle between the press and the government.
Next is Mollys Game a must see starring Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba and Kevin Costnor. The true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target
Lastly.. Movie Stars done’t die in Liverpool.. stars Jamie Bell, Annette Bening, Julie Walters and relays the story of Gloria Grahame A romance sparks between a young actor and a Hollywood leading lady..
