Joao Stanganelli is a Brazilian Grandfather who wanted to leave a legacy of himself for his granddaughter. His wife challenged him to crochet a doll with Vitiligo, the same non life threatening skin disease that Joao and his wife live with. Once folks saw his doll, requests came in for other dolls with disabilities or physical challenges. To date, Joao has created many dolls that feature children who  are in wheelchairs, some have alopecia, and other “visual’ disabilities that make kids stand out amongst their peers and make them feel less confident about themselves. These dolls remind everyone that we are all different, but we also all need love.

Adriana Gavazzoni , highly acclaimed author,will be the interpreter for the show.
